There is certainly righteous anger. It is still important to learn, know and consider the dangers that are in front of us when we’re angry because it increases risks for us.
“According to Jeremy Yip, assistant professor at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business and an expert on the psychology of emotion in negotiations, there's a scientific explanation (for) PR (public relations) blunders,” per Axios.
"When people become angry, they actually become less sympathetic — they care less about the welfare and concern of others,” Yip says. “This inhibits them (and they) become more self-interested — and construe events in a way that promote their own agenda."
Well, that’s not good for human interactions, judgment and reputation and the reactions or measured responses we might receive. I’m sure we’ve experienced other people acting in this way towards us but what about when we might or have conducted ourselves in such a manner?
We are more likely to make errors and create significant problems for ourselves, whether as individuals or organizations.
Yip’s findings are beneficial for us to gain better understanding of others and situations we might encounter and also understand how we might possibly act too.
